Rajasthan becomes 1st State to commission Farm Based Solar Power Project 

• Rajasthan Government commissioned India’s 1st Farm-based Solar Power Project under the PM-KUSUM Scheme at Bhaloji Village, in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
• It has a capacity of 1 megawatt and is spread over on 3.5-acre semi-barren land.

PM-KUSUM:- 

• PM-KUSUM : Pradhan Mantri-KisanUrja Suraksha evam UtthanMahabhiyan
• Launched - 2019
• Launched by - Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)
• Objective –  Providing financial and water security.
• Target – To add solar and other renewable capacities of 25, 750 MW by 2022. 
• Financial Support - INR 34, 422 Crores.

Components – 

1. To set up 10, 000 MW of Decentralized Grid-Connected Renewable Energy Power Plants on barren land.
2. For Installation of 17.50 Lakh Stand-alone solar agriculture pumps
3. For Solarisation of 10 Lakh Grid Connected Agriculture Pumps.

Kalinga Ratna Samman 2021

• Andhra Pradesh Governor Vishwabhushan Harichandan was honored with this award.
• The award was presented to him by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on April 2 for his contribution to the field of literature.
• This award has been given annually by Sarla Sahitya Sansad since 2007.

Boxing World Championship (Men) (2023)

• This tournament will be held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
• This announcement was made by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) on April 2.
• For the first time, Uzbekistan will host the Boxing World Championship tournament.
• This will be the 22nd edition of male  Boxing World Championship.
